Subject: RE: Best time for sports massage? Yep, I would do it when you're good and sore and tired, but not beat up after a long race, and not before a key workout or race. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where massage is cheap, and I get one (in my home, no less ) once a week. Right now I'm pretty much doing a run focus (training for a HM ), so I do it the evening after my big speed/tempo workout; if more tri training then after a day with both bike and run. People have different techniques but if it's a really full-on deep tissue massage then it can take a few days to flush out your body and recover, so I wouldn't do it right before a race or important run. |
