Got 4 of my planned 6 in  today.  Legs just weren't having it and I wasn't pushing them.  Tomorrow is another day.

Well, you will just have to do a little better next month.

Running getting better

I have been running faster on my shorter runs, around 13:28-13:50 pace. But my long runs were still at 15 min/mile pace. This past Sunday, I was feeling under the weather and felt really slow but somehow ran a 14:17 pace. Today even though I felt like I was dragging along and felt slow, I ran the same 14:17 pace. I am improving since my long and slow runs are at 14:17 instead of 15:00 min pace. I remember when I started in March at around 19min pace.

Did I mention that I really LOVE to see your enthusiasm and your growth?

I do!

The best reason to keep track of your training is to see how far you have come!

That is awesome - and let me tell you about my training one winter a couple of years ago - ran CONSISTENTLY (5/6/7 days a week) at a very easy pace for me for 4 months and one day I decided to go do a 5k TT. I dropped over 2min 30sec off of my pace and did no speed work at all leading up to the TT - if it was windy I ran the same pace or if it was hilly I ran the same pace - your body will keep adapting and getting "faster" each consistent month you put into training. Speed is not like microwave popcorn - you have to work at it very slowly - or you will burn the popcorn Keep it up!

I have never heard that popcorn analogy but I love it! It is so true.
I felt my ankle give a little while running which is progress. Without full rotation after shattering my ankle, it makes taking hills a little harder, almost on tip toes on that foot. The slight give this morning was scar tissue stretching and probably tearing a little. Hopefully, the running and swimming I have been doing consistently will help it along so I can get full rotation back.

I think I am hooked on this challenge, I have never been this psyched!
I am already looking forward to October.

My only challenge now is drinking enough water, maybe need to add that to the challenge board even if I am the only participant.

Thanks Robin. I tell my running buddies about getting a journal, using running website or a fitness watch to track their pace and distance.
They just want to run. They have no idea how much they improved because they don't know where they started.

I met my measly goals so I am at 100%. I will have bigger goals next month (and get 100% on all of them )

This was an odd moth with travel and life and such.

I'm at 98% complete. I've got a stroke evaluation scheduled for tomorrow morning with a local swim team coach so I should be able to meet my goal.

Today I feel like doing a whole lot of nothing!
