I've got a couple winders but my favorite one got burned up and the workings ate themselves to powder because my Breitling was too heavy..
Woe is me.

Oh that's just great, now I either have to shop for a heavy duty winder or avoid Breitling and similar heavy watches when watch shopping.

I've been acting like a complete germophobe all day, using a paper towel to touch door handles, water cooler tap, etc. because I know a co-worker's daughter has pink eye and I heard the co-worker complain that her own eyes have been itchy and feel like they have sand in.  Hello?!  Highly contagious!  GO HOME!!

Since I started my training in January for Boulder 70.3, I've been getting massages every 2 weeks. Last week, my regular thereapist was on vacation, and she referred me to someone else in her office. It was weird, and she was a mouth breather...

Okay, it's not really a first world problem, but I don't live in the first world most of the time. I live in my own weird mixed-up world. And I have to vent.

Up till now, if I want to ride my road bike outside in Saigon, the only real place to do so (as in at full speed, on the aerobars) has been a 6 km loop around a nearby industrial park. I normally do it once a week, on Sunday AM, the only time traffic allows. If you follow the world news, you might realize that industrial parks are not cool places to be right now in Vietnam, especially if they have Chinese-owned companies in them, which this one does. So, basically, I can't ride my road bike outside anymore. Don't know if that's temporary or permanent.

I've held off on getting a tri bike because it's not safe to ride one here. But If I'm going to be doing ALL of my biking on a trainer from now on, maybe I should just go out and get the most flash tri bike I can find, race wheels and all, and somehow figure out how to ride it on the road, like.... the day before the race? (I actually pretty much did this with aerobars, and survived.)

Get rollers instead of a trainer.  You will be a much better rider because of it.

My iPod Nano has stopped going to the next song on its own. It USE to do this. Plays one song, goes to the next song. Now, I have to hit the "next" button to get to the next song. Every single time. This was pretty annoying when I was trying to bust out a 5K at top speed. Hit "next" or listen to the same song over and over. GGGRRRRR.

Maybe an update was made the software? We looked at the menu options/settings and can't find a "repeat" option. WHY IS IT DOING THIS?!

My next problem... we are going to Houston tonight to see a DJ (EDX). I won a contest for 2 free tickets and a meet and greet for 2. AWESOME!

Wait... I already bought tickets and I can't get a refund. Whatever. Then, the meet and greet is at 10:45... we are leaving Dallas at 6:00 pm in rush hour traffic. Driving to Houston is a solid 4 hour drive. We might not make the meet and greet.

GAH!!!!!

Hmmm.... Rollers aren't sold here. I even had to bring in my trainer as could only find magnetic and I wanted fluid. So I could bring in the flash tri bike and the rollers and the trouble/expense of that could be an official first world problem!

Just back from a week on Cape Cod. Rented a house right on Cape Cod Bay near P'town. One night, a fog came in. The fog horn kept me awake for part of the night.

Another good one.....this past weekend, the free boat launch we use for our jet skis was flooded, so I had to use the county one. It cost me $8 for a one day pass.

My cleaning people normally come every other Thursday. Today, Wednesday, they called and said something came up and it was today or next week. I was embarrassed as I had not had the chance to "tidy" before they came.

Agree awesome thread.

Mine is: i want to start bike commuting to work but the bikes I have are too valuable to park on the street. So, i've borrowed my sister's beater but I have to change the tire before i can give it a try ...

This week, there has been no attendant in the service elevator at work.   I've been ringing my own floor EVERY DAY.     Things cannot continue like this.

OMG now you have to go out and get your own tissues and junk food? (The attendants in my friends' highrises all sold those, and sometimes even cooking staples like oil and soy sauce, in the elevators.)

My only first world problem today was that my new housekeeper moved the bathroom rug and it took me a while to find it--she'd washed it and hung it up to dry. Also said that she needs more time to clean as my cats have too much hair.

This is the elevator at work.  I think it must be an entry-level position, because it's someone new every 3 weeks.   I've always had to buy my own tissues and junkfood!  GAH.   Can this week get any worse?  haha!

BUMP.

They changed our garbage day from Thursday to Friday. I forgot and had to run out there this morning so they could pick up my trash for the week.

We're having construction done on our office wing. The construction wokers have been helping themselves to the free coffee and drinks in the fridge on our side of the floor, so the Office Services team has stopped stocking the kitchen. Today, I had to walk over to the other side of the floor and use the coffee maker in the other kitchen which doesn't have the same Keurig varieties.

You should have come to Vietnam when the largest bill in circulation was worth about $5 (now there's one worth about $25, but the bank machines run out a lot). To do anything like buy an international plane ticket, you had to carry a bag full of cash as a lot of places didn't take credit cards, or charged really high fees for it. I always felt like a Mafioso.....There is no way someone my size could hide $1000 or so on my person unless I faked a pregnancy!

Even now, the money system seems ridiculous. I'm about to go get breakfast for 90,000, a latte for about 50,000, and a big bag of cat food for (gasp) 300,000. Probably will swing by the ATM on the way back and pick up a couple million for the weekend. It's enough to make a girl feel rich!
