Comments:

Good swim, happy with my overall improvement in pace over the past month
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

T1 Started after the climb out of the pool and included the run into transition instead of including that with the swim time. Went pretty well
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 30m 41s
  • 13 miles
  • 25.42 mile/hr
Comments:

Went well, I knew what to expect as far as hills and did a good job mitigating them I think
What would you do differently?:

Nothing

Pretty smooth, nothing stands out
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 19m 16s
  • 5 kms
  • 03m 51s  min/km
Comments:

Went pretty well, shared a lot of the same road with the bike course so I knew what to expect. Mile 1 started uphill, then was downhill most of the way, Mile two had some steep hills, and Mile 3 was almost entirely uphill to the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, maybe push a little harder on the downhills
Post race
Warm down:

Drink lots of water and eat some bananas and cookies

Event comments:

I really liked this course and I think with better publicity it could get pretty big in the future. Roads were very nice, tons of volunteers, and great venue.

I'm doing the 22 week sprint tri program and the 2 mile bike ride it starts with is not very challenging. I see this as a opportunity to train the right way and challenge myself. Any ideas?

This past spring I realized a few of us were heading in the wrong direction physically. We were getting together for poker games and kids’ birthdays, but that was it.

The challenge? The accomplishment? I want to do this because it is an opportunity to live life. The event is an indoor sprint triathlon. I get to experience the challenge on a safer scale.

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.

From couch potato to a tri in 8 weeks. It was the most fun I've had in a long time. The race organizers had it down and there were no problems at all. This was the perfect first tri, in my opinion.
