One of our local newspaper writers called about doing an article about my running last week so I talked with him....i even gave him my before and after ha. Of course there is a lot of info and numbers he messed up for example the first time i lost weight was in 1998 not 2001, Stopped smoking in 2001 and then lost the weight and kept it off since 2003. I havent done 38 marathons and 2 ultras this year alone Ive only done 13 marathons 2 50 k's 2 50 milers and a 100 so far. I plan to get 50 total marathons/ultra by the end of the year but that would be a total pretty much from 2012-2013.When I walked NYC marathon after knee surgery was only my 4th marathon no ultras as of them and some were during IM leading up to that so 46 of them will be since 2012 which is cool. Funny was doing 52 states, guess we gained 2 somewhere haha. My biggest inspiration with the 72 year old woman doing the 5 in 5 was a couple years earlier she had to have her toes broken and plates put in due to hammer toe and was out there doing all 5 marathons!! But the jist of the story hopefully gets a few people off their and they realize if she can do it and the people I meet can do stop coming up with excuses!!

Impressive and inspiring! The lifestyle changes you made are amazing, not only diet and exercise but stopping smoking! Then the fitness gains on top of it all. One good change has really led to another for you, congratulations!

You had "cartridge' in your knee??

WOW, Jen!  It takes a GREAT deal of motivation and perseverance to start the weight loss, and continue on!  I know that you inspire many people, and I, along with others, are very happy and in awe of your accomplishments!!

Keep doing what you love and stay injury-free!
