Well I see that Half distance thread is in the "Iron Distance" location of the forum so I thought I would add it here in the SC location and add in the Olympic distance group too.

Who is ready?

I'm ready to end the season on a high note. I need some redemption after getting my butt kicked in Vegas.

Swimming in 50 degree weather is no joy, but it will warm up quick on the bike. I twisted my ankle on some acorns while blowing leaves this past weekend so it looks like I am going to suffer a little more than usual this weekend.

has there been any water temperature reading?  I don't think the 50* swimming temps will be that bad due to going numb after the first 5 minutes...

The additional suffering makes the beer after that much more enjoyable...Cool

With full sun, it will be over 60 degrees by the time we get on the bike for the Half. Might be a slight chill, but since the first 5 miles are uphill, I don't think it will matter.

It was upper 70s last week and should be mid 70s this weekend. Will feel like bathwater compared to the air.

They still need volunteers. If anyone can help, please go online and register.

Many thanks.

Yeah, I think the weather is going to be just about perfect. I'm also excited about actually having water in Lake Hartwell, unlike previous years.
