Going into my second full season of triathlon, I would like to make my experience a bit more social. I did 90 percent of my training last year a long. Can anyone recommend a club or group in the north suburbs? I live in Mundelein.

Thanks,

Todd

Together We Tri operates out of Glenview, but that's more coaching/focused training. There's also Tri-umph, also out of Glenview. Visionquest does coaching out of Highland Park. I think Amphibian Multisport does some stuff our of Libertyville too.

As for a more social-type club in the northwest suburbs, I don't think there is one.

Amphibian does some things, definitely indoor trainer sessions. There is also The Fitness Pursuit out of Grayslake. It's tri focused. They do group rides outdoors and some indoor sessions. I just know of the groups, haven't done anything yet. The better riding tends to be west & north and I'm already in that direction.

After doing a lot of research, there doesn't appear to be a true triathlon club in the north suburbs. This is very disappointing to me Most "clubs' are not in fact clubs, but coaching/training solictors.May be someone should start one

Tri clubs offer all of us, from beginner to advanced athlete, a venue in which we can realign our perspective of what “fast” and “far” are, pushing us to new and greater heights of performance.

Club or group workouts are very motivating and soon you’ll start feeling like a triathlete, making you less likely to flake out.
