Sure you want to know?  Bike has been like 180-240/wk with an occasional short week for whatever reason comes up (like the meet before). It's all trainer now, but inside & out historically have been fairly similar at more moderate efforts for me. Outdoor has been faster for higher efforts. And have been sure to include that several times a week. Running has been quite low from the fall and through winter, but recently have gotten it up to 20 mpw. I tend to do a lot of any activity I pick up. So this is no different there.  Swim has passed 261,000 on the year.

Currently about 4 hours of running (total of 4 runs) and 5-6 hours of biking. I don't track distance for running, and a lot of my biking is on the trainer so I just log time, except for doing my long ride most weeks on the road. May need to back off a bit this week as I really need to get on top of this bronchitis/asthma issue. I think it's bit of both--lingering irritation from being sick, and peak allergy season. I'm fine during the workout, usually, especially if it's early AM or indoors with the air purifier, but then hack the rest of the day. It happens a lot in the spring and haven't really found any effective treatment, except drinking a lot of water and herbal tea. Inhaled meds are good at resolving/preventing actual asthma attacks, but not at stopping that horrid, itchy, wheezy feeling. They can irritate my throat and even make me feel worse sometimes! Rainy season seems to be starting (I got drenched running early this AM, first time since last November) so hopefully relief is on the way.

Not a frequent poster but took this challenge on. Last years swim total ~104,000. This years total so far ~86,000, will be ~95,000+ by end of month. At this point, I'm thinking about trying to double last years swim total. With this volume seeing swim times dropping, which is always good.

I try to console myself with the fact that he's in his 20s and doesn't have kids, but I'm pretty sure he'll be one of those guys who can still crank it out in his 40s with kids (if he has them).  Ben also reveals nothing about his personal life :)

Ben is crazy. Good to know. Your mileage seems similar to mine. I am probably 5-6 hours on the bike, 25-30 miles on the running, and then swimming about 6000 total.
I am just not swimming as much as you!! You are all impressive.

Probably, but Elesa's memory also seems to be fading a bit with age as I'm mid-30's. Matt is the late 20-something. (She wasn't on here for her birthday, so we have to make up for it) So quite likely I could keep it up at 40.

The swimming and biking each have 3 hard sessions a week. Masters for swimming and a Sufferfest vid for the bike. The rest is notably easier. Bike is usually just over 70% FTP and the swimming is more easier to moderate. There is faster swimming worked into the non-masters swims, but not nearly as much. I can't handle *that* much of it.

Speaking of which, some recent fixes seem to be helping. Last night was as back at 2:30 +/-2" for all the 200's, 1:15 down to 1:10ish on the 100's, and :14 on most of the 25's, with the other two at :13. I'm wondering how much the draft of being 4th in line helped, but have been seeing notable jumps back up the last couple sessions. This time I'm wondering as the 3 guys in front of me are all 6'2"-6'4" and 220-235 or so. Really makes some water move around.

Another 3,000m for 109,350m. Main set 8 X 200m (2 sets of 3 free, one IM), easy/build/easy/hard by 50m. Hoping to make 125,000m by May 1 but my backup pool (at the gym) is closed until May 1, so this will require no glitches with the school facility--not always a given around here.

Another 3,000m for 112.350 total. Might make 125,000 by May 1, not sure. Main set 1000m of 50 easy/50 hard. Kind of fun, like swim fartlek or something. Haven't been pushing swim too hard lately due to health issues. Asthma doing better now but now I have a sore throat. How can I possibly be getting a cold when I just got over one? Sigh. I hadn't been sick all year, until a few days before my last race. Not sure why body is choosing now to rebel.

A measly 1650 today (skipped yesterday due to head cold, feeling slightly better today but didn't want to push it after hard trainer ride this AM), up to 114,000. Just "easy" recovery stuff, though on one pull set I thought I managed to be 100m off and it turned out I was actually swimming 10 sec/100m faster than I thought. Huh? Body seems fine although brain is full of snot and can't count/calculate. Assuming I'm feeling up to it, still aiming for 125,000 by May 1. Due to pool closure next week, would have to do it this Thursday, Saturday, next Monday and Tuesday.

3000 more for 117,000. Main set was 400 @threshold effort (1:38 pace), 4 X 100m below T pace (1:30-1:35), 300m @ T pace, 3 X100m, and so on. Able to hit the pace but it felt really hard. Haven't done any really hard swimming for a couple of weeks due to races and being sick; kind of out of shape!

4,000m today for 121,000. Hopefully I will make 125,000! Not sure about hours on Tuesday (last day before May holiday) but if I do 3,000 on Monday, I can probably manage to jump in and do 1,000m before lifeguard leaves on Tuesday PM. Failing that, gym pool now scheduled to re-open on April 30!

A classic Hot Runner workout (as in endurance + space cadet):

1100m of warmup (because I was tired from a hard/long run this AM, and it's epically hot. No desire to rush through this workout!) Swim/pull/kick/IM

1800m continuous: easy 25/hard 25, easy 50/hard 50, keep going until 200/200. This is a REALLY FUN way to do long, continuous swims. I actually tend to be close to my time trial paces doing this, and it's much easier to keep count if you keep changing pace. Did the 1800m at 1:43/100m pace, which is only 1 sec/100m off my last 1500m TT (also after a hard run, so neither probably my best effort)

100m easy

6 X 50m sprint (25 stroke/25 free) @ 1:15

100m easy, which was supposed to be cooldown, but some local staff showed up at that point to play pool volleyball, so I realized lifeguard would stay until closing time (if I'm the only one there, he starts spraying deodorant and stuff after I've swum about an hour--I swear in an effort to get me to leave. He knows I have asthma and am sensitive to that stuff!)

No desire to go home to hot apt. (heat index 112 and AC can't keep up), pool a pleasant temp, so swam another 600m (pulling with paddles, various breathing sets) for 4000m. Haven't done that since (I think) last summer in master's.

Then, of course, got out of the pool to discover I'd forgotten my towel!

Most people believe that running barefoot is dangerous. Certainly, depending upon the surface, they would be correct. However, there is some suggestion that running barefoot may reduce injuries.

Soon after I got married, I decided I needed to get motivated to work out and focus on getting back into shape. I could barely jog a quarter-mile without needing a walk break.
