Subject: Tucson Triathlon bike course
I am new to Tucson and signed up for the Tucson Triathlon. From the map and my limited knowledge of Tucson, the bike course is 3 laps on city streets and it makes me a little nervous. Can anyone who has done the race tell me what it's like? Is the bike course crowded with bikers? Does it feel sufficiently safe to go fast? Cars? Thanks!

My first and only tri so far was this race last summer, the firecracker triathlon. It was a blast. The bike course is coned off from traffic and is early on a Sunday morning. I felt safe. One person I know did caution me about watching for cars though. She had a close call but I don't remember the details. I did not feel like it was crowded with cyclists and I was new to cycling. I am planning on doing this race in March also. Maybe I will see you there. Let me know if you have any other questions.
