I went to the TriMania Expo today in DC.  I was pleasantly surprised by the number of vendors and the seminars.  The expo was free and so were the seminars.  Clinics and workshops could be attended for a fee.  So got some good tips from Terry Laughlin (total immersion guy), Danny Dreyer (ChiRunning guy and he signed my tattered book), and local physical and massage therapists.  Also heard Tim O'Donnell and Mirinda Carfrae being interviewed by Bob Babbitt.

If this comes to your area, I'd recommend trying to go!

There is one in Boston next weekend.

I really enjoyed the Q&A with O'Donnell and Carfrae. I was in the 8 am beginning TI clinic with Terry and felt like I got some good coaching.

What an amazing panel of gurus! I loved the overall theme of efficiency and grace in all three disciplines, so these activities can be lifelong pursuits. I did some guerrilla interviewing, and will be putting out a podcast next week with 6 short interviews from the event. It was an amazing day. I touched an olympic gold medal, and held the results board from the first ironman. And I went to a Chi Running clinic with three instructors, including the man himself.

Drove 3.5hr in the morning to get there early enough and then did the same hike back that evening. Long day, but WELL worth it!

I've done the Boston event the past 2 years and am going next week. My first year I attended a seminar on "Training for your first Half Ironman Race" - the presenter? None other than Mark Allen. (!!). It was great! Tons of good deals at the expos, too

Like!!

Yes, I liked the way the speakers talked about how their particular passion (swim, bike, or run) fit into the sport of triathlon and strategies for racing.
