Subject: Easter Weekend South Walton area. Events?
Scheduled my vacation around the white sands sprint tri on the 19th... which has now been cancelled.

Any other races happening in the area (Destin/SoWal/Panama City) on the weekend?

I guess if not I'll have to entertain myself with Pina Colada's...

If you stay around until the 26th, there's the Beach Blast Tri in Mexico Beach just EAST of Panama City and is a very good event. Sprint and Oly distances. Gulf swim, pretty area.

Otherwise if you are looking for group rides etc, check out Hammer Down Multisports FB page as they post rides regularly and some start from Panama City Beach.

unfortunately the way I set up my vacation I'll be leaving the next Saturday :/
and honestly I'm a bit bitter towards HDM at the moment... I'd expect an Organizer to plan around things like Easter a little farther in advance.

I don't blame you! Yes, the planning could have been better and it's bad because that weekend is when they usually had that race and this year it happens to fall on Easter weekend- they could not- were not allowed to get the permitting needed during that holiday time. Have a good vacation!
