I will not be doing it but definitely expect cold water.  If you don't have a wetsuit you'll be in for a pretty uncomfortable swim.  We've not had enough warm days to get the water temp up.

Have you already registered?

They sent out an email saying that if it was under 54? then the race would be converted to a duathlon. It's a shallow pond, but it would take a week above 70 to get the water temp above 60. It will definitely be wetsuit temp if there's a swim. If you haven't experienced a sub-60 swim, fill your sink (or tub) with water at 60, and plunge your face into it. It's quite the experience!

The water is over 60 so it looks like the swim is on! It should be a fun early season race.

Did the June 15 race, very nice event. Water temp was 75. Really like the electronic results set-up: Large monitor with results scrolling though, and touch screen monitors where you entered your bid number and received a print out of your results!

I have always been an athlete, growing up playing team sports like basketball and soccer. I also ran in a couple of 10K races every year, so I had no reason to worry about running a 5K...right?

After I left the running store, I couldn't stop thinking about the sprint tri and how much of a challenge it would be for me. So instead of joining a gym, I started riding my bike and it felt great.

I couldn’t help but feel that the race had beaten me. Perhaps duathlons were more for me? No, I was more determined than ever to succeed. I was determined to get on top of my swimming.

This life of mine is not so different from yours. It has a multitude of similarities. I suffer from uncertainty, I get nervous at the thought of registering and when getting to the starting line.

I am not going to buy a tri-suit before my first tri - I want to make sure I am going to stick with this before I spend a lot of money on it so I want to figure out what will work best.
