Does anyone know what the SWAG is for Ironman and Ironman 70.3 for the 2014 races? I'd like to order a back pack but I will hold off if I receive one for any of these races.

At NOLA 70.3 we got a shirt, one of those cheap string backpacks, and a headsweat-type hat (hat was at the finish line, whoopie!).

They had the backpacks for sale at the race (and they're online now too) for $60.

They also had a little better quality "string backpack" for sale for $5. It was several steps above the free one, and it was nice enough that I bought one. Although I felt it should have been free.

I got a sweet packpack at the Hy-Vee 5150 championships. At the last 3 IMKS 70.3 races and IM Branson 70.3 in 2012 all had the simple transition bag and a Tech-Shirt. You get spoiled at Hy-Vee, I also got a nice cycling Jersey as well. But that event has more prize money than Kona....

I would be interested to see what SWAG there is this year also.

I must have missed that. NO WAY was I buying anything before the race. I'm not very superstitious but it just seemed like a bad idea.

Hy-Vees SWAG is very nice and then you can fill up your back pack in the athlete area with a bunch of stuff.  I came home with two cases of energy drinks, a couple of boxes of stingers, and a few freebie sun glasses.

IMAZ 2013 handed out very nice back packs along with a poster and a licensed plate wrap.

70.3, you will get a "string" backpack, not very good but fine for taking to the beach, etc.  Quality will vary at races.  Miami (2013) and New Orleans (2014) sucked.  Oceanside pretty good, I think Miami and NOLA are franchised races so the swag is a bit different than non-franchised races.

140.6 (as of IM Canada 2013) you will get an actual "backpack" but it's like parachute material, and I wouldn't expect it to last long.

If you want a backpack that is sturdier, will have to pay the $$

IMWI 2013 had the same thing. Backpack was cool, but I beat the heck out of it so some stitching came apart.

A couple of years ago I got a nice Ironman backpack at IMOO. I am guessing they are still giving them out.

I have used my backpack a fair amount and its still holding up.

I'm still using my backpack from IMAZ 2012 and have used it almost every day as a gym bag... and it's still holding up pretty well.  The stitching on one of the side pockets has started to come apart, but that's it.

I'm looking forward to getting a replacement at IMChoo!

The full IM backpacks in 2012 were far better quality (and larger) than the ones we got in 2013. I would love to hear from someone who has a 2014 bag.

Got a pretty sweet bag at IM Cabo. More of the canvas style similar to European races. Mine from Zurich has stood up to daily use for over two years now. I do wish they would change the US IM race shirts to the types we got in Austria and Zurich though - more of a polo shirt design with collar and buttons.

On this style backpack, does anyone use the "Adjustable buckle straps?" If so, what do you use them for or what are they supposed to be used for?

So is the string backpack the same orange color scheme as last year's 70.3 races or is it another design?

I have used it for my helmet and it works well. I just looped them through the holes and clipped them up.

Not sure which one you're referring to but colors for Miami (orange) and NOLA (blue) were different.   Quality and manufacturer were clearly different as well.

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
