It's Malibu and there are very few hotels.  You are not going to find cheap at the beach, and especially at THAT beach.   Try Santa Monica

you could also looking over the hill in Agoura Hills or Thousand Oaks. There is a Hyatt, Sheraton, Residence Inn, Hampton Suites and Four Seasons. About the same distance as Santa Monica, maybe a little closer. You come right over Kanan Dune road and your are almost right at Dume.

Also, there is a campground at Leo Carillo. I did that one year and it was so easy since you are coming from the opposite direction as all the traffic. PCH the last few miles going north is a nightmare at 5am.
