Race report is up, first hundo is done and in the books!

My recovery is in full swing, my feet are beat up pretty good but nothing horrendous like I've seen from others. Mostly just some big nasty blisters that will heal in a few days and a couple toenails that are still developing their blackness and anger at me. I had some serious edema going on from my ankles down yesterday and the bottoms of my feet felt like pins and needles (like when your foot falls asleep) all day. They're better today, not quite as swollen or tingly. I'm trying to embrace the idea of active recovery. I ran 30 minutes last night with a local beginners Couch to 5k group, nice and slow at around a 12 minute pace. Today is off, then I have a 45 minute run scheduled from my coach on Wednesday.

Hopefully this thread subject is easily searchable for anyone going forward who is thinking about this race.

Soon after I got married, I decided I needed to get motivated to work out and focus on getting back into shape. I could barely jog a quarter-mile without needing a walk break.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
