Subject: Hilly Rides
does anyone have any recommendations for rides in the 70-80 mile range that have elevation gain of approx 2100ft? my coach wants me to start simulating IM Chattanooga on my long rides but I don' thave anything in the Southern MD area that comes close (my ride this weekend, had a sum gain of about 900 ft) - I'm willing to drive if I need to up to an hour or so for good training

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just head on up to the Frederick area for some climbs around South Mountain and the Catoctins. You could search for routes via MapMyRide.com which give distance and ascent values. BTW, many of us use Utica Park as a start point as it has a big parking area, porta johns, and water: http://frederickcountymd.gov/index.aspx?NID=2979.

Known for its brutal cadences, nasty sprints and 12-minute hills, the spin class seems to be the perfect substitute for a raunchy ride outside. But is it?
