Good morning BT!  Took a two day total break, ready to get rolling again!

4:30am:  60 mins on KK

5:30am:  3.5 mile run in upper Z2

Quick breakfast shake and heading out to run with my cross country kids. Bumping my newbies up to a 7/3 run walk ratio.

Have a great day!

75 minute 10.35 mile run this morning with some intervals thrown in, legs felt a little heavy but warmed up eventually.

Morning!!

Good 6 mile run this morning, did mile 4 & 5 at a quicker pace to see if I could - success!

Hoping to get to the pool to give the shoulder another go once the lap swim hours start...gotta wait for all the morning swim lessons to finish. Swimming here in the summer is tricky schedule wise!

Have a great day!

I am hoping for an hour long run tonight, it's looking like beautiful weather outside!

Active recovery day for this kid after yesterday's long workout.

Headed out on the bike path from the office down to the beach and then up to Powerhouse Park in Del Mar and jumped in the ocean for a quick swim before toddling back to work. (10 Mile Run, 1000 Meter Swim)

The water is getting super warm and I just love training this time of year. (Super lucky to be able to do this during lunch)

Another Rave Run Photo for Monday: (looking out across the Penasquitos Lagoon heading into Del Mar. That's Downtown La Jolla in the distance)

4 mile run with the dog in the humidity, 1.5 on trails.  Can't wait for the 2 week vacation in upstate NY starting later this week, I foresee some nice long runs in the cool air!

Here's the dog and a toad getting acquainted before our run!

got sucked into meetings all day, so couldn't escape to swim at lunch, figured no problem, local high school has an outdoor pool and per the schedule it has lap swim until 7:45pm - get there...no lane for lap swim...apparently, no one ever goes to that pool for lap swim, so they just don't set it up - my choice was either to bag my swim workout or just to adjust - so they basically let me swim on the side of the pool where swim lessons were going on, as long as I hugged the pool divider - but ended up giving up after 1900yds, rather than my 3300 scheduled, because every time I headed back to the lessons end of the pool, there were little boys along the edge and I didn't want to whack any of them as I swam by

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
