Another peachy mountain bike ride this morning. I got started just before 6am and managed to get in almost 8 miles. I did manage to tumble down mount Tuffburg when I lost momentum but refused to unclip and walk. I also hit 2 trees and made a bunch of spiders very angry after destroying all their hard work. Sorry spiders!

I am back. A week camping at the highland games. I did get my peach in walking 6 or so miles daily. All except yesterday, which I spent doing laudry, washing equipment, and un packing.

Ha! I know, I do really feel bad for the spiders. I mean, they work all night long to build very large, very intricate webs and here I come and kamikaze through them at daybreak.

I've been really peachy lately, just missed July 3rd but have been killing it ever since. I joined a swim challenge at the gym to swim 15 miles by August 31, so I've been swimming 2 mornings a week, along with biking several days and fitting in a run when I can. My legs are getting fatigued though.

So, I missed two days. One day was a scheduled day off and yesterday. My daughter gave me a light version of her stomach flu. I ran today and it was ugly--but I got her done!

Hope all are doing welll.

How nice that your daughter likes to share with you (heavy sarcasm).

Hope you feel better and better.

missed 3 days so far...2 bikes ride, and then Friday night - didn't make the pool by work during the day; the indoor pools by my house closed due to a low-cost dental clinic and the outdoor pools - no lanes set up...i think everyone was conspiring against me

I missed this past Friday to finish building up my TT/Tri bike for a time trial Saturday. It was probably a good idea because my legs were feeling a bit worn. I have been good since then though, racking up some pretty hefty workouts for me. I did learn Saturday that doing the first 5 miles of a 10 mile TT at 23.1 average is a BAD IDEA when the last 5 miles are the hardest. Final average was 21mph, still not bad and I was SOOOO happy that a bike I built up all by myself held together and pedaled and shifted smooth as butter.

WOW.. that is FAST! Great job on the bike build. To me, that is the same as being able to build the space shuttle. I am in awe.

Thanks guys... I'm proud of my time, I maybe could have squeaked out a little more had I paced properly. The sad thing is that was only good enough for 5th place in the females. The female winner beat me by over 3 minutes, she was flying, overall winner was over 6 minutes faster than me. It motivated me to do more speed work.

I know that feeling...I did an OWS 2.4 mile a month and a bit ago and was so excited that I did it in 1:04:xx...until I saw that the winner did it in like :46:xx...I was like holy hell...but gives me something to work towards

In addition to writing your race number on each upper arm, they also wrote your age on your calf. This allowed me to see who was passing me by in the bike section of this race.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.

It’s a challenge to push yourself a little harder and a little further. Be proud of every workout that is accomplished and every step-even the baby ones-that you take on this course to the finishline.

The Boulder Peak bike course is legendary. It is, literally and named as such, one of the toughest bike legs in the country.
