I posted this in the gear section but I don't know how often it gets viewed (since I rarely look there). So please forgive the double post.

Lately as my ride length increases I am getting numbness in the groin area. A guy local here has a Planet Bike A.R.S. (Anatomic Relief Saddle ) Classic Saddle for sale. Anyone have any experience with this particular saddle or any other recommendation for that matter?

Thanks in advance.

The common recommendation is any split nose saddle...adamo, cobb, sitero. My tri bike came with an adamo and the numbness that hit consistently on my old saddle was drastically lessened. I still need to shift around every now and again, but even that is getting more rare.

MY advice: split nose saddle and a lot of time riding it.

Good luck, hope you feel better (or at all!)

I have/had the same problem.I still have it happen on my road bike, but bought an adamo for my tri and it's completely eliminated the problem.

I had similar issues, and they went away completely with an adamo podium saddle.

Proper seat, fit, saddle position, shorts... more time in the saddle. Any combination of these things can help with this, problem worth solving.

Early in my road bike days I found that I had to toy with my saddle position, nose down helped. I currently ride with a saddle with a cutout.. no direct pressure on the perineum.

Buy a small level and check the level of your saddle. Numbness can be the result of the nose end of the saddle up and not level.

I had this issue as well, i got a cobb v flow max and it mostly gone now. I do find myself have to scoot around at times but i wouldn't even call it bad enough to be annoying.

JUST swapped in a Forte Pro SL from Performance. I think it was about $45. 100% improvement for me.

I just checked this and the nose is definitely up. I have made that adjustment and will see how it goes. I will also check out some of the saddles suggested here.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback.

I put a book on the seat and the level on top of the book.

These saddles are pricey. Cant afford to try them out till I find one the works. I have had this numbness too. Would the Adamo be the best place to start, and most likely fix the problem?

On the long bike rides of 80+ miles I get very strong pain in my toes. I slow down my pace and I might recover, but when I hit the next hill it is back. Could this be some kind of circulation issue?

Groin pain in athletes has a long differential diagnosis. As a triathlete, and the area you are describing, you are more likely to have a strain of the iliopsoas, or hip flexor.

I'm kind of afraid to go back to running if it is a stress fracture. But if it isn't, then I don't want to under-train either. What other symptoms distinguish each of these two injuries?
