Are these workouts designed to be back to back for maximum training value or spread out through out the day? Thanks

Spread throughout the day, unless noted as a workout to do immediately after the other.

Ideally they're probably best spaced out but in relaity how many of us can run in the morning and swim or bike in the evening or vice versa? When I used it I regularly did them back to back without any major repercussions. I always tried to priorities the workouts so that one was the focus and that there were never 2 hard workouts back to back. The key to any plan in my opinion is doing it in a way that works easiest for you - if back to back is easiest then go for it, if you can manage one early morning and one later in the day then go ahead.

Yes.  Good luck on the plan!
