Subject: Aero Bars during Duathlon
I have my first duathlon in two weeks and just realized I should check to see if others knew if aero bars we OK to leave on for a duathlon race? They are just clip-on PD aero bars for my road bike. I've never taken them off but I can if they are not permitted for these kinds of races. The reply back from the race is glacial (exaggerating but yes I've emailed them and it took 2 months for a reply) so I'm turning to my fellow BT folk for advice. OK on or take them off? If needed I'll be sure to have my Leatherman handy that morning hehe

Unless the race had some specific rule to prohibit them then I would say they are absolutely legal.

In my first duathlon, my brother and I used ours. Also saw countless others with them. You should be fine.

Aero bars won't be a problem at all in a duathlon. The only events you would have to worry about that would be draft legal triathlon (never seen a draft legal duathlon…) and of course road races.

I read somewhere about "bar ends" to put on your handle bars, do you recommend them? Is this similar to adding clip on aero bars?
