So I'm finally getting around to replacing the stock saddle on my Tri bike. The boys have had enough! Anyway, my LBS recommended the Bontrager saddle based on what a lot of his customers have said and because I can try it for 30 days. Oh yeah, he can also give me a better deal on it. Does anyone have any experience with this saddle? This is not the one with the speed dial. Wondering if I should have bucked up and gone with an Adamo.

If your looking into an aftermarket replacement, why not go with Cobb or Adamo? Bontrager isn't exactly known for it's comfortable saddles. I ride their road bike saddles, but ditched the saddle on my Equinox pretty fast and replaced it with a Cobb.

While I highly recommend the Cobb saddles (return policy is very good) when it boils down to it saddle selection is HIGHLY personal.

If you've got 30 days to try it out... try it out and decide for yourself.

Not sure if it was the Hilo or not, but Bontrager was the stock saddle/wheels on my Trek when I bought it - the wheels got changed to my Easton's that had been on my Cervelo and the saddle to my adamo (which has now been changed to Cobb) - i think Cobb has a 90 day period for exchange; not sure about Adamo (I bought it used)

I tried the Hilo and returned it. I would go completely numb in about 30min on that saddle. Ended up having to go with a Adamo.

Looks like I get to be the first positive review.  I absolutely love this saddle!  I understand how the Adamo people feel about the saddle, as I experienced a similar change when moving to this saddle.  The problem I had with the Adamo was the abundance of cushioning.  It made settling into a comfortable spot difficult.  The Hilo seems to be a better compromise.

Like Chris said, it's very individual, but I'm a fan of the Hilo.

I have Bontrager Race Lite wheels. I was looking into renting Zipp 303's or 404's for race day for Ironman Lake Placid. What time will I save?

I cannot get comfortable without the nose of the saddle being tilted down. I have tried many different seats and had two professional fittings, but still have excessive numbness and discomfort.

Finding the right bicycle saddle is often a confusing process of trial and error for cyclists. However, a little education goes a long way, and will perhaps save you some pain and discomfort as well.

Many things will influence your triathlon bike position, but if you are forced to set your position up on your own, there are several overall guidelines that should help.

The ISM Adamo Racing Saddle is difficult to define. It doesn’t look like a bicycle saddle. It doesn’t mount like a bicycle saddle. And yet, it does feel like a bicycle saddle.

Whether your bike is new, new to you, or you have not been on the bike for a long time, you really should spend some time thinking about how your bike fits you.
