Subject: Spare tire storage
Howdy! I train with a Camelbak and keep my spare tire, CO2, levers, etc in it. Since my last IM, I have decided to ditch the Camelbak during races and live off the course... in an attempt to save weight. I'm looking for ideas.

How many of you race Irons without a spare? Good/Bad results?
Does anyone store their spare somewhere unique?

Thanks!

I presume you mean a spare tire as the post asks.

I do not believe most carry a spare tire but ever since I had a dnf in a half i store one on my down tube taped....may not be the most aero but for the IM distance I am ok with it

I've seen the following for taped tires and tubular set ups:

crammed under saddle
taped to the back of the seatpost
stuffed in an empty bottle cage
taped to the top tube on the top and under side

We will take a peek into the lowly saddlebag to see what needs to be in there in case of emergency. Much of this may be common sense, some might surprise you, and some are simply just my opinion.
