Subject: 13 weeks out from IMFL I haven't been doing any strength training during my Ironman training (to speak of ) and am also guilty of skipping ab workouts. It's been so tough to juggle the training and three kids, summer activities, etc. I only work PT and stay home with my 3 girls during the day. In a few weeks all three of my girls will be in school for at least 4 hours per day for the first time EVER. Sad, but also allows me some extra time to train and even hit the gym for a class or two. Is it way too late (end of August ) to add in 1-2 strength training sessions per week? I would probably put together a plan based on Ironman training recommendations that includes upper body, abs/back, and light on the legs. I could start the last week in August and carry on until I fly out for IMFL the last week in October. Thoughts on this?? Too late to start something like this? Will it inhibit my training for the peak weeks?
