Hi, well where do I begin?

Me. ....37yr old 5ft 6ins 14st fatty.

Airways had an interest. .. From my arm chair. ... In triathlon and have finally decided to buy a bike and give it a go. ...... I'm under no illusions to the scale of the task ahead in getting 'fit'. The ultimate goal would be Ironman (we can all dream)..... But being realistic is just to start competing(only with myself) in novice/sprint races and see if I get infected with the bug.

My biggest problems that I can foresee are diet and asthma.

Any help and guidance that you guys can offer is always gratefully received.

Welcome Jamie!

With the asthma condition, just make sure you take it slow. You may find with steady training that that condition may improve. Just make sure you doctor has a heads-up to make sure you have what you need out training.

Are you on a training program yet?

No plan yet I've just bought a cheap Road bike and cycled 20km Tuesday and Wednesday each. Today I'm resting as ummm well my bum is sore! Lol

I jog/walk 5km couple times a week as well. Looking to go swimming and cycle tomorrow after work. ..... and there's pay off the problem. ... Work. ...I work away from home staying in hotels for 2-3wks at a time so carrying bike and extra training gear a pain but hope I can stick to it.

There's a novice/sprint tri local to my home on 21st September I'm not sure I'd be ready but I'm considering just diving on in there.... is 400m swim, 22.5km bike and 5km run/jog/walk/crawl/whatever it takes..... Last place last year was 2:38:00 so that would be my target. .... To much to soon?
