Subject: Hot Dam Olympic & Sprint - Evans GA
Is anyone doing this race: setUpEvent's Hot Dam Olympic or Hot Dam Sprint ,

in Clarks Hill lake (also known as Thurmond lake) ?

I've signed up for the Sprint in the Novice Male category. Will be my first triathlon race in the US, looking forward to it!

It was okay, I raced with an hybrid bike and went away with 3rd place in the Novice Category. Interesting experience as I was sure every single road bike would have been faster than me, but I could over-take some.

Road bikes make things way easier, less tiring, and are faster, but if you give everything, an hybrid can match an entry-level road bike. Although, the run was atrocious after the bike effort...

Anyway, as a first race in the US, that was a pretty good start.

Well congrats on a good first race!  Find you a road bike (or Tri bike) and you'll shave a few minutes off that bike time for sure, and make for a little easier run too!

I had ordered a brand new Cannondale Caad10, but did not arrive in time at my LBS! Still waiting for it this week.
