Subject: September restart
Well I spent the summer working and hanging out with the kid. So I am starting fresh in the morning. I was thinking a easy month of short swims, mostly drills. Easy 30-45 minute spins on the trainer and short 2 mile runs to the corner and back.

The mind is ready to go full blast but I know that the knees other bendy parts are not up to full blast. Any suggestions for starters?
Joe

Think sustainability. Many people when they get back at it want to hammer it hard. Rather you want to build your training to be sustainable over time so that you can train consistently and not have huge gaps of interrupted training.

do you have race goals or just wanting to get back into shape ?

I'd follow what was said above, but in addition, add a core and stretching routine a few times weekly.

take it EZ on yourself in the beginning and build slowly. I've done this every year coming off season.

What you're thinking of doing sounds pretty good. No high intensity stuff yet. For running, maybe some 20 second strides once a week after your runs when you're 3 weeks in. Add a couple more each week more as time goes on.
