Subject: Tapering
I know nothing about tapering and have my first HIM in November and keep hearing about "tapering", could you please shed some light on this?

very basically - its the week or 2 weeks prior to your race where you gradually reduce the quantity of your training. Your longest sessions should be about 10days-2weeks prior to your race adn you gradually reduce from there to ensure you are fresh for the race. Probably keeping the number of sessions you usually do, keep the pace the same, just reduce the distances.
