I have tried everything and I still have issues with my goggles fogging up during a race. Besides rolling on my back to rinse them out, what REALLY works?

I wash mine with a couple drops of dish soap and rinse prior to swimming.  Works 99% of the time in normal humidity for me.

the only thing I have found that works for me is lots of spit. nasty, but not as nasty as the water you are swimming in

My 'fog-free' goggles had been fogging pretty badly lately. I followed advice from this forum and used some baby shampoo. The goggles stayed fog free for all of the swim in my last race (1/2mi).

I second the use of no-tears baby shampoo.

Get a travel sized bottle and it will last you for a long time. Poke a small hole in the safety seal so you can get just a small drop. Rub that on the lenses then give them a quick rinse. Another trick is to mix it with water in a small spray bottle and give the lenses a spray when you finish a swim. Let it dry out and just do a quick rinse before putting them on.

agreed! I always spent money on Barracuda defogger, which seemed to work, except the last batch. I was so frustrated b/c by the third swim, my goggles were already fogging (brand new pair). I got a trial size baby shampoo and its awesome! only use a very small drop!

Curious...do you just wash them in baby shampoo? Or do you put it on and leave it on (like CatCrap).
Most of my swims are in quite cool water and I find that once my body heats up, my goggles fog from the difference in temp from my body to the water. (that's probably why they always fog now that I think about it)
I've got some fancy scuba stuff that works OK but like trutlegirl said, it only lasts a few swims.

Goggles come with a film or treatment for anti fog on them, don't rub them etc, it will eventually ware off. I use spit but have used the baby shampoo, and commercial spray. Spit is free and I generally have a ready supply of it.

Spit doesn't seem to last long enough for me.  Baby shampoo works (rub a drop in each goggle, the quick rinse).  I bought a product called Foggies when I needed to increase an online shopping cart to take advantage of my USAT 50% off coupon - they work very well, but have to be used at the beginning of each swim session.

I put a drop in each lens spread it around with my finger so it has a good film on it and wipe off any excess with my shirt. You just want a film of it on there not a wet state from the baby shampoo. I have used this method now for months and I wish I knew about it years ago. ZERO issues with fogging lenses, cold or hot outside or cold or hot water

I use a dab of baby shampoo in the lenses, rub in, then rinse out. Swim. Very common remedy that works great for many.

I use plain Crest toothpaste as we (family of 4) seem to have an endless supply of the sample size from dental checkups!  I keep it in my google case.  Tiny fingertip dabs inside wet lenses, spread it out then rinse.  I find spit is not long lasting enough.  Both shampoo and toothpaste work for several swims for me.  I find it more convenient to care the small toothpaste.

Had the same problem and decided to ditch the goggles. Best decision I ever made. No trouble with my eyes and no hassles with the right goggles. I know that isn't the answer for everyone, but it works for me.

I use dish soap as well except I rinse the after my workout. It takes all the chlorine etc off and leaves them ready to go. Then I rinse them in the pool when I begin my swim. Works great for me.

A few minutes before you get in, spit in them. Its gross and it works 100% of the time.

I put a few drops of contact solution in before I swim. Works great for me, I have small bottles in all my workout bags!

This is nasty but it works.  Lick the inside of your goggles, rinse, lick again.  That simple.  No cost, no frill.  Has worked for me for over 40 years in everything from 100 yard races to 3 mile OWS in the ocean.

Wow. Thank you. I'm going to try the baby shampoo next swim. This is fantastic!
