Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: My bike fit For the easy stuff, your seat is high and you are not rotated forward enough (and you may need a shorter stem). There is actually lots of work to do there. That's not going to be and easy bike to get a really good aero position on. Edited by Left Brain 2014-09-17 3:37 PM |

Champion 10668 Tacoma, Washington | Subject: RE: My bike fit * If that's how you like to have your ankles, your seat is WAY too high. * WAY stretched out. Bring those elbows back under your shoulders. Relax the shoulders and upper back. * Your measuring points aren't even close, which is why your "angles" are giving you something close to "ideal" when your body is nowhere near. |

Extreme Veteran 1986 Cypress, TX | Subject: RE: My bike fit Just to pile on... Seat way too high. Way too stretched out. You're measuring angles out of the middle of your arse and not the middle of your hip and your thigh instead of your knee. That old road bike with very relaxed geometry is a horrible tri bike. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. |

Regular 272 Apple Valley, Minnesota | Subject: RE: My bike fit I actually just raised the seat ~ 1", I felt it was too short before, I just didn’t feel like I was getting all out of my pedal stroke. I knew I needed to adjust the aerobars I can bring them back, but I also need to spread them out a little bit too. The picture is at a bit of a higher angle so I think that throws things off. And I know the angels aren’t Ideal, but a few mins over lunch with Visio was all I could muster. What the downfall of being too stretched out? I understand the opening the pelvis for muscle recruitment and such, and would look at a forward seat post as its far more realistic of a purchase to a new bike. |

It's exhausting and you won't be able to hold it very long. Once you get your torso supported by your skeleton it's much easier to maintain and keep your power up. That's why you want to try to get your elbows under you (90 degrees)......no way that angle you have at 94 degrees is right....you are more streched out than that. The picture quality below is not good, but you casn see the arm/shoulder angle and seat height compared to what you have. We've removed some spacers since this picture was taken so he is lower now, but you should easily be able to see some marked differences between it and what you have.
