Total Time = 2h 33m 51s
Overall Rank = 697/3400
Age Group = m 45-49
Age Group Rank = 56/278
Pre-race routine:

Got up early. Ate immediately. Took care of all business with plenty of time left pre race.
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 16m 56s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 08s / 100 meters
Comments:

strong current
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 05m 46s
Comments:

Took my time due to the rain
What would you do differently?:

Organize my stuff better
Bike
  • 1h 14m 58s
  • 40 kms
  • 32.01 km/hr
Comments:

Had to take it somewhat slow due to the rain. Plus there were a lot of clueless bikers out there. Many new to triathlon athletes. Some could not even make it up what I would call rollers.
Transition 2
  • 04m 27s
Comments:

Took way too long but i was OK with it.
What would you do differently?:

Prep my bag differently when there is a chance of rain and I'm keeping items dry. I couldn't find my dry socks or the numbing agent for my blisters. That added 2 minutes of screwing around.
Run
  • 51m 46s
  • 10 kms
  • 05m 11s  min/km
Comments:

This was my first relatively hard effort since my injury so I was very pleased. Ran with a hamstring cramp for about half a mile.
What would you do differently?:

Take in more electrolytes on the bike. I was struggling to catch up on hydration and electrolytes.
Post race
Warm down:

Felt great. Cool down and then ate.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mental limits. Concern about proper healing after injury.

Event comments:

Logistics of bike drop and pick up are a royal PITA. Other than that this is a fun race.

This is NOT a diet book, but a weightloss book that has helped me change how I see food and the choices I make when I eat.
