Happy Monday! The hubby and I intend to sign up for Augusta 2015. I have a fair amount of experience, but have not done a long race since Austin in 2012. I trained somewhat haphazardly, but did ok. This will be his first and I would like to have a plan for the two of us to follow. We both work, are 50 years old, and need to use our time wisely.

Thanks in advance.

Not to advertise for a competitive web site, but I used the"super simple ironman 70.3" training plan off triathlons.com. the structure was simple and easy to follow, and it prepared me well for my first HIM this summer. I'll probably close it again next year and I bet I can improve my time from 5:41 to close to 5:00

Hey thanks. I like simple. The weekend rides seem short compared to what we do over the Winter with the road club, but scaling back while increasing our runs after the ride the next day is probably a good idea. I'd be happy with a 5:40 and hubby will be happy to cross the line in 6ish I am sure.

Lori, hello from neighbor in Panama City! I have used the gold plan/custom here on BT for 2 Gulf Coast Tri and have been successful with it.
Good solid plans, customized for your experience etc. I'm sure the other plans mentioned are fine as well. Good luck.

I used the plans on this site that Mike Ricci developed. I did Augusta and had a great race using his plan. I would recommend D3 coaching services as well.

I'm on the Race Week of the Silver Member Beginner 1/2 Ironman plan from here. I work 60 hours a week and have to have time for my wife and school plus household responsibilites. Over the entire 20 weeks I never felt overwhelmed from the volume of training. Some 2-a-days got a little tough, but I only missed a few workouts, and I am confident I will reach my goal. We will see Sunday!

Thanks for the inputs everyone! I read over the ones that I could access and gave it some thought. I think we will go with a plan that seems easier that we need. We can always bump it up a little, but I don't want either of us to feel overwhelmed. Been there, done that. It was very demotivating. We'll do a lot of the cycling club rides with the easy group to get our mileage up over the Winter.
