I include nearly all of the traditional sprints with race report ratings in the state. I consolidated the series that raced on the same site to one entry per series. I think most of us use similar criteria in evaluating races- location/course layout, communication/organization, and swag/food.

Vote for your favorite three races!

Not on the list, but one of the best is the River City Triathlon in Logansport (at France Park). They didn't have it last year due to some conflict with an event at the park, but hopefully it will be back next year. Other than in a pool, you won't find clearer water. Would have also chosen Pokagon but have only done the oly not the sprint.

The only Sprint I've done is Warsaw so is that the only one you'd like my opinion on?  Like vonschnapps I've done Olys at other places you have listed but don't know if you want my vote based on that.   Thanks for putting this together.   It'll be interesting to watch.

I think it's pretty hard to beat Tri Indy. It's a unique race, great atmosphere, and a fast track. I've also done and would recommend the Eagle Creek Series and Muncie. Up in the NW part of the state, I would also recommend the Valpo and La Porte triathlons.

You missed Cicero Triathlon! The 32nd Cicero Triathlon is scheduled for June 20, 2015, with a 500 meter swim, 10 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. I've been happy to help this race the past 2 years, and am very excited to be the race director for 2015.

I voted for Columbus Challenge. I've done that race more than any other and keep going back. Very well run and community-supported event.

Carmel has a pool swim, but is otherwise great.

I did not vote for Tri Indy. The swim and run are fantastic. . . but the bike course was way too rough and crowded both times I did it. (The Sprint group joins the bike course as the Olympic group is starting their 2nd lap.)

As the fog cleared, the buoy that I first saw earlier in the morning was just the first marker in a very long line of buoys that stretched across the lake like a runway for a 747 jetliner.
