Hi guys and girls,

I hope that you all had a wonderful day with good training too.

I have been working out later in the day for the past couple of days and have noticed that my heart rate is higher when I train in the afternoon/evening.

Is this normal, or could it not be because of that and thus another explanation for the higher heart rate?

Normal. M'y blood pressure is a tad high. Lots of nurses and some coaches told me it starts low and climb over the day.

The nurses are mostly when i give blood in case you wonder...

You're in a rested state in the morning and have had stress placed on the body throughout the day. You are over thinking these heart rate questions a bit too much.

Normal. Resting HR is higher at that time, so you are starting from a higher baseline. Also, at least here, temperatures are higher in the afternoon and that affects HR as well. If you've consumed caffeine during the day, that could further jack up HR!

Thanks for the answers! I asked this cause when I go swimming, I have a hard time to keep my heart rate in zone 2. And when I work out late it gets even worse.
