this is probably a really stupid question but i know what size bike i ride – 56. go to 56 for six years and was always the right size. decided to upgrade and I think the bike shop lied to me and told me I was buying a 56 but I actually bought a 54. I can't seem to be able to put the seat high enough and the frame just overall seems smaller than my previous bike. not a single sticker on the bike saying the size. I think Trek cheated me, although it could be the domane frame runs small - the sales slip says 56 but the book, little do dads bag says 54. shop owner said, oh yeah, this went with a different bike. because it is a small shop, and only one on 60 mile radius, I think he doctored The sales slip.

how do i measure to see the true size so i can list the correct size selling ... no point keeping a bike that is too small regardless. anyway, helpful answers only please - how do i determine bike size if i don't trust the bike store?

Go to treks website....the geometry for each size is listed.

This is an example of the geometry chart of the Trek Domane 2.0.  You probably want to select your exact model as I'm not sure the geometry is exactly the same across their entire line.

Basically you can just measure the seat tube and the top tube to confirm what size frame you actually have.

Drive over to the Wheel & Sprocket in Evanston...they may be the largest US Trek dealer (5 or 6 stores) in the country. I'm sure their head wrench can verify what you have if need be.
