anybody else prefer tri singlet vs a cycling jersey even during just cycling workouts not just during the triathlon? I just started triathlons this year and started biking obviously so I bought a couple cycling jerseys and tri singlets. I've found I find the tri singlets more comfortable than cycling jerseys.

Bike jersey hands down. Better able to store, a bit more loose, more comfort. Unless its a new jersey or your first race don't buy into the train in your race gear. I don't see any benefit to the tri jersey thought outside of cost ( hope you train in more than on garnet).

Agree with Ben.  Cycling jersey unless doing an actual triathlon race.  And for IM, I would use a cycling jersey as well since I'm not as concerned about transition times.

More comfort, more sun protection, more road rash protection, bigger pockets, easier to get on and off (full zipper), and ability to open up if it's hot.

I do both. If just cycling I wear cycling jersey but if I'm doing a bike/run brick I'll wear the tri top so I only have to change shoes.

I prefer tri tops because they fit tighter than all my cycling jerseys. The wind whipping around causes my HR strap to go all wacky at higher speeds.

I just need to find some snug fit jerseys, but then again, most of those have smaller back pockets.

I prefer cycling jersey mainly for the bigger pockets and added sun protection.  My cycling jerseys have much cooler graphics on them too.

I wear a bike jersey most of the time.  The exception is when I'm doing a brick and wear a tri top and shorts.

I use both. I don't like to have much in the pockets of the bike jerseys, anyway, so I don't miss pockets if wearing tri top. I also don't like the bike jerseys with a loose fit, especially on a windy day (too much flopping around). Tri tops are best on the hottest days for me.

Unless I'm doing something race specific like a run off the bike, I wear a cycling jersey. Even then, it usually wouldn't be my race suit but rather some of the older stuff I have for swim/bikes or bike/runs.

The rest of the time, swim in a drag suit or jammers, ride in bibs and jersey and run in shorts and top.

I do tri tops on anything 1hr and under since there is no need for a pocket. Over 1hr it's a cycling jersey. As much as I spend on clothes I'm getting more than race day only wears out of them.

Cycling jersey. I never wear a tri top/suit unless it is race day. I prefer cycling gear for training on the bike.

I do feel the tri singlet is more comfortable for me. Since I don't tend to put much in my pockets the extra pockets on the cycling jersey are not a big deal. With that being said, I have not been doing bike rides longer than 30 miles so my mind may change when that happens

Jersey plus arm coolers when biking outside--mainly for sun protection. Otherwise I will get absolutely fried here! Also considerably less unwanted attention/harassment if I'm a bit more covered up. I do wear tri tops for running, sometimes, or for trainer workouts indoors. I rarely race in a tri top as I usually wear a one piece trisuit, so might as well get some use out of them.

Cycling jersey and bib shorts for the majority of my rides.  Exceptions would be if I was doing a brick and I usually do a couple of rides in my trisuit shortly before a big race.

or if Strava hunting....
