QOTD: Tell us about your race this weekend (If you are racing) or your big weekend workout. (Long Run, Long Ride, Big Swim etc.)

And of course, for the good of the group, please post a bit about your workout(s) for today planned and/or completed.

Did my long run today - 10.5 miles.

After biking with the kids to school, headed to the yoga studio for 80 min of Hot Yoga.

I have pesky SI joints that create low back pain from time to time, and yesterday was one of the bad days. The yoga helped relieve some of the tightness! Always thankful I can fit it in when I can!

Nothing too exciting this weekend. Hoping for a 2 hour trainer ride tomorrow after my son's soccer game.
Sunday is always a rest day so looking forward to sleeping in!

TGIF!

I'm just building back and transitioning from mostly bike. Also needing to leave most of afternoon for taking someone to doctor appts, So, this morning was some walking followed by an easy 1 mile run, then 30 minutes on trainer working on being smooth at 100-105 rpm followed by a 750 yards of swimming mostly 50 repeats. Planning a little more of everything tomorrow with probably about 2 miles easy running and slightly longer swimming. Sunday planning on probably just a Yoga class and swimming.

After a spell of very windy, rainy weather today was cool, calm, and wonderfully sunny.  Took advantage of it and ran an easy 4 miles during my lunch hour.

Tomorrow morning is a local 5k/10k.  It is a flat, fast course which I had my fastest 5k last year on (won my age group and was 10th out of 192 overall).  I haven't decided whether to do the 5k or the 10k yet.  I am much stronger than I was last year but not sure if my foot speed is quite there yet.  I'm two weeks into a 5k-15k training plan which has weekly track and tempo sessions.  I'm pretty much just training through this race and have already had two quality sessions this week.  I'll probably flip a coin as I register in the morning as to which distance I run.

Birthday FTP Test

285w for 20'

Not the watts I need, but the watts I deserve for my lack of bike fitness.

I suppose it's a slightly different approach to puking on your birthday.  Of course, you could always puke twice just to cover both bases.

CX race tomorrow...which ironically involves beer, and feeling like you're going to puke at one point or another.

All my "big workouts" are on the weekend, as that's the only time I have time to do them. Kind of a "weekend warrior". Saturday (actually just finished an hour ago) long run (2:10) with 6 x 1 km tempo pickups with 1:30 recovery jog starting at 60 minutes. Not too bad--my long runs have gotten to be less of a slog since I got some lighter shoes (Saucony Kinvaras) but 2:10 here seems really dull. It's all on residential streets. Kept longing for the woodchip trails in my hometown, or the rain forest in Hawaii. PM will do my longer swim workout of the week, either 3000 or 3400m depending on how energetic I am. Sunday long ride (probably two hours on the trainer as want to watch the end of the Kona footage, sometimes I do an MTB ride with a local group, which can be anywhere from 2-4 hours).

Friday--One hour run in AM, workshop all day, happy hour with one beer after work, 35 minutes of strength training. No puking. As for 285 FTP, I will never see it. Sounds great to me. Then again, at my size that would put me in the pro level at watts/kg. My last 20 minute test was 195. Don't have access to PM or computrainer anymore so no idea what it is now.
