I got one for my Mom and she loves it.  Don't have a personal review of it though.

I don't have the Fire HDX but the one before it (just Fire HD, I think) and I've been very happy with it.  Books, Netflix, websurfing, all good.

Very nice if you want to watch movies, read a book, get e-mail, skype, etc. We have a HD and a HDX (HDX is faster, better graphics, and has a camera). Downside is that it's not a PC (although you can get most apps to do want you want), and there's a limited storage capability. My wife uses hers probably more than her laptop. For the price, they are very well worth it.

Oh, and I asked this question last year or so on this board, and bought it based on the recommendations here!

I have a Kindle Fire the first Kindle Fire and it's great as an e-reader or to watch movies on Amazon Instant Video or Netflx but the internet brower sucks out loud on it. If you want to use it more like a tablet PC then the iPAD is the way to go.

I have the same experience with my 1st gen Fire, but they've had multiple updates since that was released so i would expect that the browser experience has improved. I use my Fire exclusively as an ereader and use my iPad Air extensively for everything else. There's no real comparison, but I have no idea how the later Fires perform,

I still have my kindle fire 1st gen and the browser still sucks. You can't even use the facebook app very well on it.

I agree but was referring to hardware updates since the 1st gen came out, what, three  years ago? Surely the newer Fires have improved that experience.

This is NOT a diet book, but a weightloss book that has helped me change how I see food and the choices I make when I eat.
