Remember your swim in the Russian River? Pre-race there was always a post asking if there was going to be enough water in the river for the swim? The one where your hands were brushing the bottom and you may have occasionally had to stand up to wade the shallows? Well, river depth this morning was 32 feet with all the rain we have gotten. Feast or famine :-)

Maybe they should hold Vineman in December.  My guess is that the river depth will return back to "normal" in July.

I suspect T1 is probably about ten feet under.  Hard to imagine.

They'll clean up and recover.  I'm sure a triathlon race 9 months from now is the least of their worries.

This is what the Ironman finish line looked like on Alii Drive after the outskirts of the Japan Tsunami hit Kona.   The King Kamehameha hotel lobby was completely flooded as well.  6 months later, the race went on as usual.

Pain shows us how strong we are. After last weekend I am convinced of this. After 151 training hours of swimming, biking, and running, I flew to Sonoma County, California for the race.
