to maybe light up a Christmas tree with a couple strings of lights. Power2Max is installed and I've been hitting the trainer just watching\learning the power and HR. I have not done an FTP test yet. I have power 3s, power 10s, cadence and HR zone on the screen. I noticed that the 3s will bounce a lot. It even bounces when I try to keep a smooth cadence. I'll see it jump 3 or 4 watts either way. Very hard to do keep it constant. I hope it gets easier. My left\right leg shows 49%/51% on pretty much all my trainer rides. I need to pay more attention to my pedalling.

It's very good if your 3 second power only bounces around 3-4 watts. Just wait till you get outdoors, it will start bouncing around 10 watts or so due to wind gusts, bumps in the road, or small changes in elevation. Perfectly normal.

You may find that 3s and 10s bounce around too much. I use 30s and fluctuations aren't as dramatic. IMO, it's better for long course, if that's what you're doing. Good luck!

ETA: I use 3s and 30s, but just glance at 3s power here and there (hills, descents, etc) to make sure I don't have huge power spikes/drops.

What Jason said, if you can keep 3s power in the 3-4 watt range you are doing well.  I have 3s and 30s on my display.

That's good to know. I will try out the 30s screen. I'm enjoying the power. Looking forward to training with it.

Not that this means anything to anyone except the people I play Quake Live with, but there is a well known wallhack/aimbot for Quake Live that plays the "I've got the power" line from the song by Snap when you enable it. So when I saw this post title all I could think was "Ha, another Cheater!"

I stop playing Quake after Quake 3 Arena. That was a fun one.

Quake Live is basically Quake 3 Arena without blood. It's the same levels, engine, etc, just less gore. And it's free to play if you don't mind the ads.
