I love my smoothies / protein shakes.  I have at least one a day and making them in my old blender sucked.  I finally bought a good blender.  This is what I got.

It's awesome.

It's loud as hell, sounds like a jet taking off in the kitchen, but heck what do you expect from a 1500 watt 2HP blender?  I could probably blend my old blender in it.

What's your guys favorite recipes?  I'll share a staple of mine

Whey protein - flavorless
Whey protein - chocolate
Spirulina powder
Spinach
Greek yogurt - Plain
Strawberries
Blueberries
Carrots
Beets
Ice & water

I would share portion sizes but I don't cook like that - I do it by taste and what I am going for at the time (carbohydrate heavy, protein heavy) It usually clocks in at between 325-450 calories.

I have the same one. It's pretty awesome. I use the smoothie cup attachment more than anything else. I really need to give myself an excuse to use the blender and food processor attachments.

My usual go-to smoothie is:
peanut butter
fresh or frozen blueberries, rasberries, strawberries
a banana
unsweetened vanilla almond milk
a tbsp of chia seeds
a few leaves of kale or spinach

If I'm using fresh berries, I'll put in a few ice cubes. Sometimes I'll add a scoop of creatine powder.

I've tried using beets and carrots but it didn't blend them up as smoothly as I would have liked. It was almost a salsa-like consistency. Maybe I need more liquid or more time, not sure. Do you cook the veggies before you blend them? I assume not.

I also like to use frozen pineapple chunks or frozen peaches. Pineapple chunks, plain almond milk, coconut lowfat yogurt, chia seeds, creatine, and a few ice cubes is another good one.
