Morning!

Hope your run goes well! I'm so enjoying trail running right now!

6am - 1:40 on the trainer. Felt strong today, although still sore from the past weeks workouts!

Have a great day everyone!

Splash N Dash, 1000 yard swim followed by a 5k. Pool was warm and the sidewalk was covered in ice and snow! Finish time right around 46 minutes, should of had cleats on!

Ran a little over 4 miles, pretty slow but it was a run none the less.

Ran the half marathon course for the Carlsbad Marathon next weekend. Did the last 6 miles at marathon pace and ended with a 1m 36s negative split.

Was an awesome dress rehearsal for next weekend and my last proper workout. Now the goal is just to keep the legs fresh and loose.

Also: Ran the whole distance in a steady rain and I was reminded again how much fun it is to run in it. NEVER FEAR THE RAIN :D

9 mile run this afternoon, warmed up to 23 which was pretty nice, still a lot of ice and snow on all my routes, slow run felt pretty tired after the hill workouts this week.

No cold weather here! 2:54 MTB ride with some faster stuff on the road coming back, followed by 30 minute brick run. My first brick run in a long time. Ugh--had forgotten how dead one's legs feel and how blazingly hot it is at 10:XX AM here. If it were 23 degrees C here, that would be amazing! 40 minutes of strength training in the evening.

Finally starting this build into Boston Marathon, albeit a bit easier than I had hoped

Run

AM - 2 hour duration run at 70%HMP = 16miles. Felt easy and controlled all throughout with minimal talk from the IT band. Excellent sign!

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
