Subject: Gift/ planner for Ironman training?

Hello BTers,

One of my friends is training for her first IM (IMMD). She prefers to track her training longhand (not on a website) ... I've been looking for paper planners but I can't find anything. Also, any other ideas for a small "gift" while she really gets into her training?

thanks!

Just bought this for myself: http://www.oiselle.com/shop/running-accessories/believe-training-journal

Hasn't come in yet, but I'm excited to do some by-hand logging for a change

Oh that looks more like what I had in mind.... you think it's good for s/b/r instead of just running ?

One of the things I really needed that I didn't think of until I started training was different reflective/lighting items for training outside when dark outside. I had the blinkies for bikes, but I got some blinking arm straps and gloves. They are relatively cheap, but make you feel safer running and biking when it is dark outside.

My wife has some congratulation cards on her etsy site if you are interested for something after she completes her goal.

re: gift

If she is nearby, and has young children, perhaps a 'certificate' for childminding for a day or two....

In regards to the Believe Training Journal, its not one for tons and tons of data.

It's more like a planner with bits of motivation throughout. It's geared towards running, but I log all my workouts and notes in it.

Also worth noting, IMO, it's awesome!

I have this and it can totally be used for s/b/r. It's fantastic.

Most of the non-log stuff are concepts you can use in all three disciplines. The actual log portion is relatively generic and not run specific.

Just got mine yesterday. Awesome little log + some guidance/inspiration, assistance in setting goals... it's pretty nifty.

This half Ironman plan covers many weeks of challenging, but attainable training for someone who has some endurance experience, and ideally some Olympic distance races within the past season.
