Subject: Suunto, Stages Power and Trainer Road
Sorry, I am kind of new to all of this. Before I used the Garmin 310xt and the usb stick worked to transfer everything to Trainer Road.

I switched to the Suunto Ambit2S, and I can't get the Stages to pair with it. Any suggestions on this?

Then, how will I connect Trainer Road with the Suunto since it doesn't use a USB stick?

Thank you, and sorry if these are dumb questions.

Did you check dcrainmaker.com ?

Many answers about pairing the devises can be found there.

The Suunto 2S should have no problem syncing with the Stages, but I would double check the manual that you're doing it correctly with the Suunto and that the Stages firmware is up to date. The stages is dual transmit - bluetooth and ANT+, but it might have a switch so that if it binds to one it turns off the other; do you have any bluetooth receivers that might be picking it up? If TrainerRoad is locked on to the Stages and you're trying to also connect with the Ambit...read on.

TrainerRoad will work no differently, you will still need the USB stick which will work with the Stages as before. You can *also* record the workout with the Suunto, but you'll have to rebroadcast the stream from TrainerRoad, which there is a setting for in there. Unless you're relying on Movescount as a data store though, that's not necessary.

TrainerRoad actually talks directly with your devices, not your head unit or watch. So even with the Suunto, you can continue to use your current ANT+ stick which will talk directly to your Stages (or you can use BT since Stages speaks both languages). Hope this helps!
