Subject: RE: Threshold testing Not necessary if you are just going to follow the plan etc. I did my first 2 halves with the BT plans they were great, but I find that eventually, you want more. Instead of just a trainer, I'm hooked up now with TrainerRoad and have the Kurt Kinetic inRide app that measures "power" on the trainer and from that I got a FTP to base my training efforts off of. It's the "objective" way to see progress/gains. Also, you can get a heart rate based FTP without any "power" measurement, just HR. Lots of articles on how to do all this- IF you want to. |
