Subject: Selle SMP saddle or Adamo?
Hey all!

After some umm, unpleasant saddle issues, I realized I need to find something MUCH better than the stock seat on my Cervelo P2.

Right now am demo-ing a Adamo Time Trial, but it is a bit too wide. Probably will try the ROAD next since it is narrower.

Got a Tri bike fit today and the guy doing it suggested the Women's Selle SMP as well.

Anyone ride one of these and any feedback regarding either? I know it's all a matter of preference and comfort, but curious what others experiences are!

Thanks so much!

Susan

I tried an Adamo saddle as well, and took it back. It was too wide for me as well. Ended up going with a Cobb V Flow Plus. Saddles are very rider specific, so what works for me or anyone else, may not work for you, but I really like the Cobb saddle.

I have a Adamo and like it. It didn't completely solve the discomfort but definitely improved it. I haven't tried Selle so can't compare.

Wife loves her selle smp avant. In fact she made me buy two in case they stopped making them. saddles are very much rider specific but these are a great saddle. What type of smp was suggested?

I got an adamo prologue used and at first thought I made a huge mistake., now I love it. I don't have any experience with anything other than my stock road saddle so maybe the others are better, but I agree that it depends on you mainly.

I also just found a blog on the different types of SMP saddles that has been very useful. This doesn't have their newest saddles in it but will give you most of them, their size and for what purpose. Hope this helps!

I had the Selle SMP Evolution and it was really uncomfortable for me.  Recently I demo'd the Adamo line and ended up with the Adamo Attack saddle.  While not perfect it is a hugh improvement.

Thanks for this! Great info! Going to get another Adamo from the tri store to try this week - one that is narrower. I think the TT bruised my rear :-)!

I cannot get comfortable without the nose of the saddle being tilted down. I have tried many different seats and had two professional fittings, but still have excessive numbness and discomfort.

Finding the right bicycle saddle is often a confusing process of trial and error for cyclists. However, a little education goes a long way, and will perhaps save you some pain and discomfort as well.

Many things will influence your triathlon bike position, but if you are forced to set your position up on your own, there are several overall guidelines that should help.

After a while on my first longish ride, I noticed that I was getting numb. It’s scary. “Will feeling return?” is the first thing that comes to mind.

The ISM Adamo Racing Saddle is difficult to define. It doesn’t look like a bicycle saddle. It doesn’t mount like a bicycle saddle. And yet, it does feel like a bicycle saddle.

Whether your bike is new, new to you, or you have not been on the bike for a long time, you really should spend some time thinking about how your bike fits you.
