Good morning BT!

4:15am:  1:15 on the KK, high cadence with some hill intervals thrown in at the end

5:30am:  30 mins upper body strength training + core

I was able to go for a 50 minute swim yesterday right after school--had my lake to myself!  Good part about my daughters getting older is I'm getting a lot of my independence back--they have their own 'stuff' going on...bad news is my daughters are getting older!

At 1:25pm today I will officially be on Spring Break! Yes!    Have a great day all!

Our workouts are matching up again!

AM: 1:10 trainer ride with lots of hard intervals
PM: 35 minutes of strength training

Alas, our vacations do not match up. In the past I would have had a break next week, too; however, it was switched this year to match the Vietnamese May Day holiday, so it's not for another month. The good part is I will have my first week of taper for the HIM off from work. Not planning any travel (last week I had a race at the end of spring break and caught a nasty cold on the plane which messed up my race), just staying off my feet after training, spending quality time with my fur kids, and getting ahead on coursework.

I shall go for a jog.  The route will take me past the rowing venue where the northern college teams congregate for training during their spring break.  Last week, I was overtaken by a women's team on their warmup jog.  They were mostly socializing so it took a while for them to pass me.  I got to hear some of their conversation.  It was educational.

Finally hitting the open water!!!! 2000m swim at the lake today! Super excited but its "cold" 50s outside right now and will warm up to 70s when we swim... The water won't see that of course . I suppose its wetsuit on weather . Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Good morning!

I will run at lunch, 40 minutes w/10x1 min fast uphill is what my plan says, there are no hills on base except for one small one that is .05 miles long on our .75 mile track, guess I will hit that every lap for 2 climbs per lap.

5pm when the pool opens for the first time all week, I will knock out 2100m.

Have a great day!

Yahooooo!

Took the dog for a 4 mile run into the park and did some trails.  Nothing better than a dog that was just groomed running through all the dirt & puddles, I know he was enjoying getting nature back onto him!

Evening everyone!

We have friends staying with us this weekend, so I had to move most of my long stuff to the weekdays.

4:45am - 33 mile ride outside. FIRST ride outside since July of last year and only second since my bike crash in May. One could say I've been a little skiddish getting back out on the roads! I have a race coming up in a couple weeks so HAD to get out. And it actually felt great so happy I went!

9:30am - taught 60 min spin...legs were cooked!

It was - 5 (23 F) and a strong wind but the roads were mostly bare so it was a great run. 8.5 km at threshold pace. I'm figuring that it's time to start picking up the pace and get out of winter maintenance mode.

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
