Subject: Cannon Falls Du?
Thinking of "du"ing the Cannon Falls Duathlon in late April. Sounds like a well run race but I have a question on the bike. Is the course flat or does it have hills and curves? Sounds like it can get windy. I haven't rode my tri bike in a long time since I took last year off and thinking it may be a better idea to road bike instead.

I remembered it being pretty flat.   I thought "Wow, if it weren't sleeting right now this would be a great bike ride!".   Other than  few turns to get into/out of the park, it's a simply out and back.    The weather can often be crappy, which accounts of the strange bike times.  It's not related to the course itself.

It would be a great course for a tribike, if the weather is good.

Thanks! It does look pretty flat overall. This will be my first race since the fall of 2013 so my tri bike handling skills may be suspect so I will have to weigh that also.

I did this one several years ago and it rained all morning but stopped just before we started the race. The bike course can be very windy. Also be prepared for large grain trucks zooming by you on the road.

The race itself is well run and fun.

Looks to be cloudy and kind of cold. Low of 36 and high of 57 with winds out of the East at 10 to 15 MPH meaning race time will mid 40's probably. Debating on holding off for races in May at this point for multiple reasons. Hate freezing on the bike.
