Subject: Time to drop a stone or 5!!!
Hi all,

Looks like a great place for some support on my mission to get the weight I've carried for far too long off.

I'm 41, 5' 11 and currently 259lbs (Actually was 266 about a month back) and would love to get down to 210, maybe even 200 or less depending on how the fitness goes...

I've signed up for a novice sprint triathlon in at the beginning of July, and need to lose a big chunk in order to make that easier. I've started a bit of training; I can plod my way round the 3k run; did my first swimming in years this morning (managed the 400m in about 23 minutes with lots of stops) and going out on the new bike this evening to see how that goes...really I just want to get through that first tri and hopefully it will keep me motivated.

I've always been overweight; even though through school and university I played lots of sport, I always got by with some technique and talent rather than fitness....I've lots big amounts of weight in the past - most notably I went from 267 at Xmas 2011 down to 214 by June 2012; but then gradually put it back on over about a year and have stayed between 18/19 stone (252/266) since. 210 would be nice; then there will be another target set

So, I'll try and post regularly, keep you up to date should you want to follow along and hopefully can bring you all news of finishing the triathlon in July and hitting that 210 target late on this year!

Cheers!
Pete

As I was pulling my wetsuit off while standing in the water, my left calf cramped such that my foot was pointed, the muscle was rock hard, and I could not pull my foot out of point for 30 seconds.

Focusing on the first part of the pull and avoiding the dreaded “dropped elbow” can help transform your stroke, and allow you to relax and let go of these common challenges.
