Was asked by a friend to do this sprint tri, but website is not current even though ACTIVE.com has registration open for Jun 28, 2015 race. Doesn't seem like too many people know about this. The locations is really nice though at CSUSB campus. Takes a lot of web research just to get info on course map, rules/regs, etc

Would hate doing a race that's not well organized. Searched this site and noticed most of the reviews were old (2011). Thanks in advance.

I raced this reverse tri 2 years ago. Started off with a pretty flat 5k run on and around campus. The bike was, if I remember correctly, around 9miles on the side roads. Has one pretty steep climb right before the turn around. And there is where the asphalt is a little rough, not too worrisome on the way up but on the way down be cautious. Then it finishes off with a pool swim, something like 150m if I'm not mistaken. Don't know if the course is the same but let me know if you would like a link to my Garmin log of that race. As for being organized, it was. Had plenty of volunteers and police presence at intersections. Had really good competition as well. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the feedback. Weather (heat) is a little worrisome in late Jun there but starts at 7am so hopefully it'll be ok. Yes, would appreciate if you can share the link to your garmin log. Race is on 6/28.

Don't worry about the heat. You'll be done before it gets too hot (80+).

My wife and I have done this race a few times and we always enjoyed it. There is some good competition that show up and the one climb on the course can be a challenge.

Thank you. Fun race, well organized. That hill climb on the bike was definitely challenging. Cloudy skies but a little humid. Just wished they had timing mats in/out transition so we could get splits on the official scoring. Highlight was meeting Rudy Garcia-tolson, the first bilateral above knee double amputee to finish an ironman. He ran the 5k.
